I am raising money for this fantastic charity as they bring so much love and hope to our residence and people in our local community living with dementia

While "dementia" is often used as a single term, it's actually an umbrella term for a collection of symptoms that result from various diseases affecting the brain. These diseases, such as Alzheimer's, vascular dementia, or Lewy body dementia, cause damage to the brain, leading to a decline in cognitive functions like memory, thinking, and language. So, dementia is not a single disease, but rather a syndrome caused by various underlying conditions

The effects dementia has on the individual and the families is extremely tough and heartbreaking.

Dementia friendly Peterfield volunteer their own time to create a safe space for people and their families living with dementia.

Dementia friendly Petersfield organise a weekly dementia choir ,dementia dances memory cafe , talks for anyone in the area needing a listening ear or somewhere to go with their loved ones and family’s

Everyone is free and there is never any judgement

Many have had their own personal experience's I’ve loved ones living with dementia and are now raising awareness and giving there own time to bring our community together.

Downs house care home would really like to help them grow and continue to do the amazing work they do
