Laps For Lapu Lapu

On April 26th, a tragic and senseless act of violence took place during the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver, leaving families heartbroken and a community in mourning. This devastating event has forever changed the lives of those affected, and we are coming together to support them during this incredibly difficult time.

In response, I, Jacob Goodwin, along with my team at Myo, have organized a community fundraiser called Laps for Lapu Lapu. On May 10th, we’ll be gathering at South Memorial Track to run laps and raise donations in honour of the victims and their families. Each lap represents our commitment to standing in solidarity and bringing support to those affected.

As someone who grew up in the Fraser community, this tragedy hit close to home. I felt deeply moved to do something meaningful for the place and people that helped shape who I am. With the incredible support of Myo, we’ve turned this idea into a real opportunity to give back to a community that means so much to me.
