Hi!

My name is Valeria, I’m 16 years old and I’ll be travelling to Cape Town, South Africa, next March 2026 for a volunteer project with Mellon educate.

Mellon Educate is an international education charity that has transformed the lives of thousands of children and families in South African townships. Over the past 12 years, they have  improved access to quality education by building schools, launching literacy programmes, and creating jobs in disadvantaged communities. Our goal is to deliver improved literacy and education to hundreds of thousands of children across Africa, while also providing employment opportunities for school-leavers through training

While I’m there, I’ll be helping with small construction projects, teaching kids, and supporting local programs that provide food and education to the community.

In my free time I love playing sports, running, teaching, and taking care of children.

I’m really excited for this experience because I know it will be a chance to learn, grow, and experience a totally different way of life.

Any kind of help or support would mean a lot.

Thank you so much!
