"I didn’t grow up knowing Mr. Solomon. I didn’t serve with him. I didn’t have a long history with him at all. I met him at a gas station.

Most people walked past him. Some turned away. But if you stop and talk to him, you quickly see who he really is. He is one of the most genuine and kind people you will ever meet.

Mr. Solomon is a Veteran who suffered a stroke and went through a divorce soon after. Life hit him hard and kept going. Even so, he has not lost his spirit. He still speaks with warmth, makes people feel seen, and carries himself with dignity.

There was something about him I could not ignore. I felt pulled to help, not out of pity but out of respect. I have done what I can, but it is not enough. This should not fall on one person.
