This is Rhonda from Oklahoma’s story…

"I decided to nominate my mother because I have seen her face so many hard moments in her life. She was married to my father who was an Air Force veteran for 36 years. She cared for my grandparents when they needed her most. She also helped raise my children so I could work and keep our family going.

I watched her stand by her husband as he battled cancer not once but twice. She carried that weight with quiet strength. No matter what life brought her, she met it with grace and kept moving forward.

Now she is the one who needs help. She is at risk of losing the home her father built in 1962. Severe plumbing issues and unpaid property taxes have made this situation overwhelming.

She is one of the strongest people I know, but this is more than she can handle alone. My daughter and I have tried to manage the plumbing issues as best we can, but it has grown beyond what we can fix. When others stepped in and offered help, it felt like a true blessing.

I love my mom deeply. She is my best friend and someone I have always been able to count on. Like many mothers and daughters, we have our moments, but my love for her never changes. I want to give her peace and help ensure she can live comfortably."
