This is Ray from West Virginia’s story…

"I am nominating my dad, Rene “Ray” Trudeau. He is a retired Air Force Veteran who served for 20 years. He has always worked hard and taken care of others, but the past few years have been especially difficult for him.

After losing their home to a hurricane, he and his wife moved several times before settling back in Mississippi. He cared for her for years as she battled Parkinson’s. Then, just over two years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away shortly after. It was a heartbreaking loss.

With no close family nearby, he sold everything and moved to West Virginia to be near my sister. Not long after, he lost one of his dogs, who meant so much to him. Then came another difficult moment when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He went through treatment and had a short time of relief, but recently new spots were found, and we are waiting for more answers.

Right now, he is living paycheck to paycheck while managing medical costs and traveling to appointments. It has been one challenge after another, and it has taken a toll on him.

I would love to see him have some relief. Support would help with daily expenses, medical costs, and give him a sense of stability. My hope is that he can find comfort, peace, and maybe even a place to call home where he can truly rest."
