This is Randy from North Carolina’s story…

"My husband, Randolph “Randy” Brewington, is a proud U.S. Army Veteran now living with Alzheimer’s disease. As his condition worsens, our days are filled with doctor visits, medications, and constant care. It has changed every part of our lives.

Recently, we faced the risk of losing our home after nearly 29 years. Medical expenses caused us to fall behind on our mortgage. We were offered a loan modification, but the new payment is more than we can afford on our fixed income from Social Security and my partial retirement.

I am also managing multiple sclerosis, which requires ongoing treatments, medications, and frequent testing. The co-pays alone have become a heavy burden. Together, our medical needs have made it harder to keep up with daily expenses.

This home means everything to us. We were married in the morning and moved in that same day. It is where we raised our son, welcomed our grandchildren, and built a lifetime of memories. Even our beloved dog of 13 years is laid to rest in our backyard.

As Randy slowly loses his memories, my greatest wish is for him to stay in the place where those memories were made. We are asking for help through prayers, sharing, or support if you are able. Every act of kindness brings us closer to keeping our home."
