This is Mitchell from Nevada's story…

"After losing his wife of 47 years, my dad, Mitchell Gordon, a 77-year-old Navy Veteran, was targeted by scammers who stole his life savings. He spent 20 years serving his country. Now he is facing a crisis he never saw coming.

Just days after my mom, Rochelle, passed away on December 31, 2023, a criminal group used an AI-generated video and fear tactics to trick him. They convinced him he owed money and would face serious legal trouble if he did not act fast. Confused and afraid, he followed their instructions.

Over several visits, he withdrew and sent $45,500 (his entire savings). Much of it was my mom’s life insurance, meant to support him in his final years. No warnings stopped the transactions. By the time we realized what happened, the money was gone.

Now, our focus is helping him stay stable, and covering basic needs like housing, food, medical care, and transportation so he can get to doctor visits and the senior center with his dog, Buddy.
