Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest times in my life. I’m a single mom doing everything I can to provide for my son. Right now, we are catching the bus back and forth every day just to get him to school, and it has been exhausting, stressful, and unpredictable—especially when the weather turns against us.
I recently had to downsize from a two-bedroom apartment, and I’m struggling to make ends meet while still keeping my son’s life as stable as possible. His father has been unreliable and has even left me with almost $1,000 in traffic tickets in my name—even though I don’t even know how to drive yet.
Last month, I was able to buy a car with the hope of finally having reliable transportation for us. Unfortunately, the car needs repairs before it can even run. On top of that, I don’t have my license yet—driving lessons cost $120 for just two hours, which is far out of reach with my current situation.
This has left me stuck: I can’t work consistently because of the time and energy spent on public transportation every day. I need help to either fix the car I have or work toward a more reliable one, and to afford driving lessons so I can finally be independent and give my son the stability he deserves. My goal is to begin an apprenticeship in construction or carpentry once I have reliable transportation, so I can build long-term stability and provide a better life for my son.
Anything you’re able to give—big or small—would truly mean the world to me and my little boy. Even just sharing this page helps more than you know. Thank you for caring enough to read our story and for helping us take steps toward a brighter, more stable future.
