There's No Place Like Home: Billy Ball Meets a Friend is a book that helps children and families understand the reality of homelessness. Written by Tony Pichler and Amy Matz Bolle, and illustrated by Valerie Lambert, There's No Place Like Home: Billy Ball Meets a Friend will expose children to the harsh reality of homelessness, especially among children, youth and their families, yet in a gentle way.
Billy Ball meets a new friend at school--Reuben. While Billy invites Reuben to his house after school, Billy comes to discover that Reuben has no home. He lives in a car with his Mom and sisters. Often an invisible reality, There's No Place Like Home: Billy Ball Meets a Friend gives a picture of the homeless issue in the United States, with beautiful illustrations and a captivating story.
Monies raised in this Go Fund Me account will be used to publish the book and make it available to families, schools and churches. All proceeds of the book will go to Whatsoever You Do, Inc. in Green Bay, WI, the Fox Valley Warming Shelter in Appleton, WI, and a scholarship fund for homeless children and teens.
Whatsoever You Do, Inc. is a 501c3 organization that serves as an umbrella for five programs that reach out to those on the margins. They include StreetLights Outreach, Spokes of Hope, the Giving Garden, Amani Outreach, and SpiritWay. Our newest venture is a House of Hospitality which is open to all.
