Hello, my name is Joshua. I’m writing this with a heavy heart, hoping someone out there can help us bring my dad back home. He is currently being held in an immigration detention center, and our family has been living with a pain we never imagined we’d have to face.
My dad wasn’t just my father — he was the person I worked with every single day after I graduated. We installed flooring together, fixed carpet for people who needed it, and spent nearly all our time side-by-side. Even though I’m a young adult now, I still needed him. He was the one I could talk to about anything, the one who taught me not just how to work, but how to be a good person. Over time, he became more than a parent — he became my closest friend.
The day they took him is a moment I can’t forget. It was a normal Wednesday morning at the warehouse. We were waiting for the carpet we needed for work. When I walked out and saw trucks surrounding the parking lot, and then saw my dad in handcuffs… something inside me broke. I felt like the ground disappeared from under me. Watching them take him away tore a piece of my heart that I still haven’t gotten back.
When he left, our home changed. My mom lost the person she leans on. My 18-year-old sister and I lost the father who guided us every day. And my little 6-year-old sister, who just started first grade, lost the comfort of seeing her dad when she comes home from school. She still asks about him. We all miss him in ways that are hard to explain — it feels like a part of our family is missing.
We also lost our income the day he was taken. I was suddenly left without work, and our family went from stable to struggling overnight. I was blessed to find another job, but we are barely staying afloat, especially with the unexpected lawyer fees. Every bill feels heavier now. Every day is full of stress we weren’t prepared for.
This is why I’m reaching out. We are humbly asking for any help — anything that can support us through this difficult time and bring my dad home where he belongs. This money helps us with the lawyer fees.Even a share, a prayer, or a simple message means more than you know. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for listening to our story. May God bless everyone who takes the time to help our family.
