Short Breaks for Disabled Children – Fusion Short Breaks, is funded by Liverpool City Council and provides support to disabled children with a diagnosis in Liverpool. Their programe can be a lifeline for many families, especially their Ofsted registered provision in Croxteth which provides specialist care for over 150 disabled young people aged 3 years to 18 years, after school youth provision weekends and school holidays. The team & their resources were relocated to a building in Croxteth Liverpool in January 2018 & the dedicated staff team continue to provide fantastic Support. In addition to the services offered we would like to support Short Breaks to further develop and extend their offer and enable them to be in a position where they can offer a range of additional opportunities for children and young people, as a vast majority of disabled children who have complex behaviors, health needs and or physical needs require a sensory environment. Whilst the service offers this we would like to further develop the area and introduce new and creative opportunities forth children and young people accessing the service. The current Short Breaks budget is utilized to fund the services delivered and the staff team that work with the children, additional funding would enable us as parents to further extend and build on the wonderful service and support that’s offered.
