FureverHugged is a nonprofit that supports animal shelters and rescue organizations through donations and fundraising. Our goal is to help fill the resource gaps. This includes new and gently used dog coats, blankets, leashes, cleaning supplies, and more. We hope to help all dogs feel warm, secure, and "hugged" as they wait for their forever home.

My name is Barbara White and I am the founder of FureverHugged. Our network and community connections have grown tremendously since our first dog coat drive in 2018. Our story is inspired by Betty White, a bulldog mix that was rescued off the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. She was 8 years old, severely injured and emaciated. With the help of #RescueDogsRockNYC, Betty found her forever home with me and quickly became a loved addition to the family. Due to Betty’s condition, she “dressed up” in coats and sweaters - not only to be fashion forward - but because emaciated dogs have trouble regulating their body temperature, so coats and sweaters serve an important purpose. Betty passed away on 12/27/18. FureverHugged is a tribute to her and the love she gave everyone and every dog. 

Our team is taking next steps on becoming a 501(c)(3) so we can continue to expand our efforts and support individuals, shelters, and rescue organizations that need resources. The funds received will go directly towards our application so we can begin to offer tax deductions for monetary and non-monetary donations.  As a public charity, FureverHugged will also be able accept monetary donations that will support the aformentioned as well as shipping/transport costs, promotions, and supplies.
