Funeral & Living Expenses for Hammons-Milo family
Donation protected
In the early morning on Monday, June 20, Jade Hammons-Milo passed away suddenly after many years of chronic and debilitating illness. Her husband, Rook Milo, is deep in grief and shock and currently in the care of friends and family.
Rook's friends and family are offering what support they can, but as Jade's disability was the sole source of income for their household and ended with her death, Rook and their dog Sadie are in need of additional funds to tide them over until Rook's own disability claim has a chance to go through. It has been in contention for several years now, largely due to issues with Texas law not allowing for situations in which both married partners are disabled and unable to work.
Rook's caseworkers are hopeful that his claim will be approved now that Jade's has been retracted, but in the best-case scenario, this is still several months away. Meanwhile Rook has Type 1 Diabetes in addition to severe depression, anxiety, and other conditions that require constant attention and medication. His dog Sadie will need vet care soon as well.
We're asking for any support you're able to give. This would be a devastating time for anyone who has just lost their love, but Rook's mental and physical conditions combined with the financial reality of the situation makes this an incredibly delicate and urgent matter. I cannot stress enough that your support may save his life.
