Funeral Expenses for Owino

We are heartbroken to announce Owino (Martin), passed away on November 10th, leaving behind his wife, Jen, and their two children, Benta and Semeyo. Owino's passing was sudden and unexpected after a struggle with an illness, complicated by underlying health conditions. Owino had his close family by his side in his final days, comforting him with their love.

Owino has touched all of us over the years with his kindness, generosity, creativity, laughter, good cooking, passion for music, and eternal love. Owino could turn a stranger into a friend, or a brother or sister, in a matter of minutes with his jovial spirit. He expressed his joy for life through his art, which continues to bring joy and light to those who have the good fortune to have a piece adorn their wall. Owino's art was an expression of his love and passion for his motherland, Kenya, which he wished to be returned to upon his death.

We are raising funds to help cover Owino's funeral expenses and unexpected medical costs that have accrued due to his illness. Owino's wishes were to be buried in Kenya. These funds will cover transporting him and flight expenses for Jen, Benta and Semeyo to put him to rest with their Kenyan extended family.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be scheduled at a later date so that we may all share our countless joyful memories of Owino.
