My son and I are coordinating a GoFundMe account to help pay for the arrangements of Carroll Lynn Whitney-Smith's death.

She tragically passed away. She left behind a daughter, 2 sons, and 2 granddaughters. She was 55 years old. Carroll was my daughter and my son's sister. We lost her beloved father in 2016.

Carroll was a hospice caregiver and then decided to go out on her own and help people who were having trouble helping themselves. She did this for free with very little money. At the apartment complex she lived in, there were several people who had trouble taking care of themselves. When she would cook her meals, she would make big batches of food and deliver the food to many people who had trouble making their own meals, and to some of her friends. She would clean their apartments, grocery shop for them, visit them, and help them whenever needed.

Shortly before she passed, she coordinated activities for everyone to enjoy. Her passion was people, her family, friends, and animals. She had a dog she named Scooter whom she loved dearly. When one of the tenants passed away, she took in her dog Molly, who was Scooter's sister. We are a close-knit family. She would stay with us often and would only say she was staying for a week, but a week would often last a month. We have 2 dogs and she would bring hers. We all would have a wonderful time together. She was very close to her brother and they would visit friends and hang out together. Carroll was a go-getter and always on the move. How she found time to earn her own living was amazing. She had many friends who loved her dearly. She brightened so many lives and is missed by us and so many others. We are all devastated. She was a bright and shining star whose light went out too soon.
