Funeral expenses and support for family of 9

Donation protected
On March 25th, 2020, Stephanie was life-flighted to the QE2 hospital from YRH, around 1:30am. Around midnight, she started feeling sick. The scans showed blood on her brain. It was determined that she had a cluster of abnormal blood vessels in the back of her brain rupture. This caused a severe brain bleed. There is nothing they can do. As of now, she is still on life support while they run the tests needed. Heidi (her sister) lives close and eventually yesterday they let her in to be with her. Billy and her eight children made it to the city yesterday afternoon. It was a huge worry that only three of the eight were going to be allowed in to see her because of the ongoing virus restrictions. They got it sorted out, and set up a family room for them and they took turns visiting. Thankfully everyone got to see her. This all happened so fast and completely unexpected. Being a family of ten, any support right now would be greatly appreciated. Any donations made will go towards bills, groceries, funeral cost, and basic necessities for Stephanie’s eight children. Most have probably recently seen Steph at Walmart with a smile on her face, having a chat as she rings you through, even when she has had a lot on her plate at home. Anyone who knows Stephanie, knows she would do anything for anyone. It makes our hearts happy she is a donor, and knowing she is still helping others even in a terrible time, and when the world does not seem very positive because of the Covid virus. As of now, all of the tests for donation came back positive, and they only need to do one more. She is scheduled in the OR tomorrow morning. *****UPDATE SATURDAY MARCH 28th, surgery for organ donation has been completed. rest peacefully sis I miss you already ****** Thank you for your support  The family of Stephanie Penney *******Update******* SATURDAY MARCH 28TH**** My name is Heidi McLeod. I am Stephanie Penney’s younger sister. I am the aunt to her eight children; Marlea (19), Christopher (18), Talea (16), Kaden (14), Connor (13), Sierra (12), Atticus (9) & Zuri (5).    Myself, along with close family members and the children's father, have discussed different options for the funds raised. Some of the things we plan to put the money towards are; basic everyday needs to keep the house going, bills, medication, upkeep of their van, groceries & starting an education fund for each child. Kaden has scoliosis, and is scheduled for surgery at the IWK on April 30th. We plan to use some of the funds for the three hour travel time to Halifax, from Yarmouth. We had also planned for the funeral home cost, but Sweeney’s graciously offered so we could keep the funds for the kids. Our hearts are so full with the ongoing support over the past few days. It is overwhelming and greatly appreciated!  As of right now, all funds from the Go Fund Me page, are being set aside in one account (with my bank). As the family’s needs arise, we will withdraw what is needed. Also, as things start to calm down, and we have a total amount to consider, I plan to meet with Billy (the father/step father, who the children now live with) and put an action plan into place so they can continue to move forward. This has all happened very fast, and we have not had time to process yet. Email money transfers can be sent to [email redacted]
