On June 29, 2019, our friend and brother, Terrence "Tuna" Gareau unexpectedly passed away while he was in Colombia. Terry's passing comes as a great shock to his family, friends, and the community.
Terrence “Tuna” Gareau (Terry to his family and friends), was a world renowned scientist in the field of Information Security. His work had been influential in protecting critical infrastructure, institutions, and Governments worldwide. At the time of his passing he lead a security R&D team for one of America's largest financial institutions. Over the years, he has held positions as head of red team at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was founder of the Prolexic research group (PLXsert), and Chief Scientist at Nexusguard. Tuna was also a member of the DEF CON CFP Review Board.
The world today is undoubtedly less secure without his guidance and research. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.
This Go Fund Me was created to help provide the Gareau family (the beneficiary will be Terrence's sister Jenea Matos) with the financial support needed. All funds raised will go towards helping the family. The cost of repatriating Terry's body back to the United States and the funeral services are significant. The Gareau family needs our support now more than ever so we ask that you give what you can to help bring our brother home and lay him to rest.

The Celebration of Terrence Gareau's life that will take place on: Saturday, July 13th 2019 @ Runyon's Restaurant in Coral Springs, FL. The memorial will begin at 1PM.
