Fun-DUCT-Raiser: Duct Tape & Cardboard Boat Races

Donation protected
The Lakeview & Waterfront Trails, along with the water access point, were created for walkers, runners, swimmers, bikers, strollers, and four-legged friends. Ensuring all facilities are in tip-top shape has been a passion of POLYCORP since this portion of the park opened in 2016.

Enter Fun-DUCT-Raiser - a family-friendly regatta that has become a must-see event as part of Spryfield Days.
Participants enter as individuals or teams and create a boat that is constructed with only TWO items: duct tape and cardboard. And then they race the boats!

ALL MONEY raised will assist in funding operations, maintenance, and future expansion of the trail and existing facilities.

A bit of history: Long Lake Provincial Park was created in 1988 and laid largely dormant for almost 30 years. The grand opening of the Lakeview Trail on Earth Day 2016 changed all that, making the park accessible for all to enjoy some nature in the city. The Waterfront Trail followed in the spring of 2017, linking the upper parking lot to the new boat launch area on the Old Pumphouse site.
Today, with almost 6 km of easy walking trails and easy access to the park's pristine lake, this area has become a popular destination for local residents and visitors alike.
