My name is Brooke Desir and I am a breast cancer survivor. Each Breast Cancer Action Month, I’m proud to stand with The Breasties to create more connection, comfort, and hope for people affected by breast and gynecologic cancers. These illnesses change lives overnight, and the loneliness and questions that follow can be as heavy as the diagnosis itself.

I was a young mother when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My life turned upside down, while I was trying to balance life, which meant running a mobile art studio and being the best mom to my then two year old. After being diagnosed, The Breasties changed my life.

They are the first truly all-inclusive community that brings survivors, previvors, stage 4 thrivers, and caregivers together so no one has to face this journey alone. They truly exemplify the healing power of being seen, heard, and supported by people who truly understand.

The Breasties offers peer-to-peer connection, practical resources, and advocacy that help families navigate treatment, recovery, and life during and after a cancer diagnosis. By supporting this organization, we help fund programs and research that creates hope for so many living with the unimaginable.

Every act of generosity helps strengthen a network of compassion that changes someone's future. Whether it is a virtual support group, a resource guide, outreach to a newly diagnosed person, or access to an otherwise unattainable treatment, your support helps! The Breasties meet people where they are and walk beside them.
