Meet Edith and Sonia, two hard-working and dedicated leather artisans. They are each moms to beautiful, studious kids in Bogota, Colombia and have been significantly impacted by the global pandemic.
My name is Steven and I am the Co-Founder of Cale & Cael, a custom leather goods start-up with a focus on ethically-made products. Edith and Sonia work at one of our partner factories in Colombia. Ever since the pandemic hit, the factory has been closed. With little to no government assistance, the factory staff (mostly single working moms like Edith and Sonia) have been really struggling to keep the lights on and food on the table.
The Cale & Cael Team and I started this Emergency GoFundMe campaign to raise $2,500 to help Edith, Sonia, and the 7 other women that work at the factory, take care of their children until they’re able to get back to work.
What Does Your Donation Do?
$100 USD covers one month of groceries for one family in Colombia. $350 USD offers grocery and home utility support for one family in Colombia for 2 months. Even a $5-$25 dollar donation will go a long way to help them buy rice, potatoes, and other basic supplies.
These artisans are more than our suppliers, they’ve become friends and part of the Cale & Cael Family. We are committed to standing with them during this time.
