Funds to relocate from a domestic violent situation.
After allowing my grandchildren (7) to live with me, so they were not separated, their father (who lost his parental rights long before the children moved in,) has become more threatening and aggressive. Reports have been filed multiple times over the year from authorities all the way to the State Attorney’s office. However, authorities have not been able to locate this individual and he leaves before authorities arrive. The father's aggression has become overwhelming. The children are no longer safe playing outside and we do all we can not to be home. I understand that relocation funds are available, but we do not qualify. Reason, the aggressor is not a significant other, spouse, or someone living in the home.
In the meantime, the threats are increasing and causing additional emotional trauma for all the children. From the increasing threats, the children have displayed multiple behavioral issues. One started stuttering and another reverted back to wearing diapers during the day. Getting the children back into trauma therapy is not helping when their father shows up at any moment with demands and threats.
It is our prayer to receive needed funds to secure a new home away from the constant threats and stop living in fear.
What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, psychological violence, and emotional abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically; however, the one constant component of domestic violence is consistent efforts to maintain power, intimidate, and control over the other.
Thank you for your support in relocating a grandmother and grandchildren to safety.
