Funds to keep the Porthcawl NCI station operational

Donation protected
Hi my name is Laurence Bater and I am the Station Manager at Porthcawl NCI and I am running the Porthcawl 10K race on 5th July for the station.
The National Coastwatch Institution is a charity run on a voluntary basis and works with the other Search and Rescue Services to help make sure all beach, shore and water users stay safe and out of danger.
The Porthcawl NCI station is open during daylight hours every day of the year with two watchkeepers covering each of the three watches per day. All watchkeepers are volunteers and train over a long period to become qualified and pass their assessment.
Porthcawl NCI is funded by donations from the public and through fundraising events organised by our NCI volunteers. It takes about £6000 to £7000 each year to keep the station operational. This money is raised locally by volunteers of the Porthcawl station with no financial support from the head office.
