Hello, my name is Jessica Barrett. I am the daughter, and only child, to the homeowners Sandy and Dilwyn Duree and I just wanted to give you all a little history about them.

First and foremost, we want to express how grateful we are to each and everyone of you who have taken the time to stop and listen to our story. The love and support from all of you have been absolutely amazing and heart warming. You all have shown that there is still good left in this world thats so full of hate and discrimination.

In 1995 Sandy and Dilwyn were tired of renting. They wanted a home that they could grow old together in, the ultimate American Dream, as theyve been married since 1983, and felt that it was time. When Sandy first saw this house and the land it was on, she was instantly in love. As a lover of trees and nature, she knew that it would be the perfect place to grow old in and be with family. They started the home buying process with plans of turning the spare room into a library to keep all of her books in as she is a huge fan of Steven King and all genres. Plans for the library room though were soon stopped as they found out they were pregnant, with me. They gave their all into raising me and making sure that my needs were met before anything else, and as many know this can be very challenging when only bringing in enough to cover the bills and necessities.

Life has not been easy for them but I can honestly say that they have been doing the absolute best that they can with what they had.

Many might look at the property and say that we have not been doing anything with it, and I'd say that they were wrong. In 2017 we had the living room, bedroom off of the living room, and half of the kitchen completely remodeled. Sadly however the contractor that we had trusted with the process of fixing our home, took advantage of our family. They did put in supports for the foundation in these areas but what they didn't do is complete the siding for the back of the house, where they threw up metal sheets of aluminum, leaving a four inch gap between the top of the roof to where they nailed them down. They didn't finish the kitchen, just throwing up plywood. Didn't add any protective flooring on top of this. After being paid thousands of dollars, they did as little as they possibly could, and when they decided they were done, they stole all of my mom's medications. Medication that she has to have due to health issues, which made her even sicker.

Fast forward to just a year ago and we had the bathroom floor completely torn out and replaced with new plumbing, and thankfully, the contractor was very nice and helpful.

Work has been a slow process as everything is so expensive. Many times they were faced with making sure that they had food on the table for their family than being able to fix any issues within the home.

So again, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping my parents. I wish I could do more for them, but as a mom I am struggling myself. Please keep any hateful comments to your self.

Thank you, again, and God Bless.
