UPDATE: Our Baby is Home – Thank You

After the most painful eight months of our lives, on April 2nd, 2025, we finally got our baby back. Words can’t fully describe what this moment means to us. What happened to our family was heartbreaking—on August 1st, 2024, just five weeks postpartum, our baby was taken from us. At the time, we didn’t even understand what was happening. My husband and I had done nothing wrong, and yet our world was turned upside down.

In the days and weeks that followed, we began piecing together what had happened. No one would tell us why. Eventually, we learned that someone very close to us—someone we trusted—had lied to stop us from moving closer to my family. That lie, tied to an ongoing custody case, spiraled into a nightmare. Honestly, I don’t even think this person understood what their actions would lead to—they just didn’t want us to leave.

Over these months, I’ve wrestled with pain, anger, confusion, and grief. What was done to us is one of the deepest betrayals a family can experience. And yet, through it all, my husband and I have chosen forgiveness. Not because the evil done is excusable, but because we refuse to let that darkness live in our hearts. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good – Romans 12:17-21.

Our next step is healing. I don’t know if I’ll ever fully recover from the trauma of having my newborn stolen from me based solely on lies. But I do know this: God is just. He is near to the brokenhearted. And one day, He will wipe away every tear.

It took over $65,000 in legal fees, and countless other costs to bring our baby home. But we did it. By God’s grace, we did it. And we couldn’t have done it without you—your prayers, your donations, your words of love and support.

From the bottom of our hearts: thank you. Every dollar, every prayer, every kind message helped carry us through the darkest time in our lives. And now, we are finally holding our precious baby again.
