Lucero’s funds for VAW Internship to Guatemala

As I’m approaching to finish my first year at UCSD with a major in biochem and minor in psychology on the premed journey, running into VAW has given me the opportunity with the internship role of going abroad to Guatemala, San Pedro La Laguna, to provide proper medical support from healthcare professionals. As well as influencing environmental justice and improvement like easy access to water, and hygiene education to local San Pedro La Laguna residents of all ages.

These costs won’t only cover my costs for the program as a whole, but also help my transportation fee. I’d really appreciate achieving my goal and have the opportunity to grow within a diverse culture, seeing a different perspective of healthcare access and learn ways that can best benefit the needs of the people that represent Guatemala .
