Hi my name is Rhiannon Mims and my son Vincent Rizzo has two heart conditions that will require him to have open heart surgery. He was born with a atrial septal defect (hole between the upper chambers) and because of that he’s also developed a Pulmonary stenosis (pinched valve) that they will have to repair as well.

The specialist we’ve been working with at Sacred Heart-Pensacola are sending us to Gainesville to the University of Florida pediatric hospital and Vinny will be under the hands of the best surgeon in the country for his condition. 

Jonny and I will both be out of work for a few weeks to be able to travel to Gainesville. Also, once we get home we will need to tend to Vinny while he recovers. The surgery has now been scheduled for October 27th, 2021. We will be leaving Pensacola on the 24th to travel and meeting with the doctors first thing the morning of the 25th. After his surgery will have to stay in Gainesville for a week for his recovery. 

We are asking for donations to help our little family get through this time with as little to worry about as possible so we can focus on our little guy and his recovery. They say that once he recovers he should be able to live a perfectly healthy, normal life, even play whatever sports he wants. We love and appreciate all of you ❤️
