On October 17, 2019, Sheena and Richard welcomed twin boys (Grant and Grayson). The babies were delivered at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida due to complex health issues noticed through ultrasound prior to birth. Grayson weighed 3 lbs. 5 oz and Grant weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz. 

 
After Grayson was born, it was discovered that, in addition to the duodenal atresia, he did not have an anus. His first surgery was on October 22. Doctors repaired his intestines and put in an ostomy to create a complete digestive tract. Grayson is in ICU still. He is no longer on IV nutrition, and they removed his PICC line. The pediatric surgeon said that he will most likely not have any more surgeries before discharge. They really want him to gain weight and grow before doing any other procedures. He will most likely have his heart surgery around 4-6 months old. There is a concern with his spine and spinal cord, and an MRI will be performed soon.

 
As far as Grant is concerned, he’s was having bradycardia episodes daily, but the episodes stopped and after 48 days in the NICU he was released. He continues to eat and grow like a champ!!


Sheena and Richard have 3 other children who are staying with family in Pace, Florida (5 hours away). Unfortunately, the babies may not be released from the hospital until after the holidays so the family may be separated for a few months. As you can imagine, this has put an emotional and financial strain on the Faircloths. In addition to prayers, please consider helping the Faircloth family through this campaign!
