Funds for LGBTQ school society

Hi all, as you are probably aware, I run the LGBTQ+ society and my school. Many of the students are only 'out' within the walls of the club, once a week at lunchtime. The society has grown in size, with lots of students feeling confident to be themselves for the first time and it is lovely to see!

As it is not an educational society, the school funds do not cover this club. Students' families are not in a financial position to be able to pay for additional costs, with many already on the poverty line AND as some students are not 'out' at home, they cannot ask for money for a theatre trip or exhibition, so we are quite limited on the experiences I can provide.

I am trying to raise funds to cover the costs of:

having guest speakers/workshops

buying theatre tickets

buying exhibition tickets

money to put on oyster cards for trips

buying craft supplies

snacks for parties/events

the annual school Pride event - speakers, decorations & pizza

I would love to be able to take the students out into the community to meet other peers/adults from the LGBTQ+ community, to see that they have a place in the world, and they are safe - 'we are everywhere!'

How ever much you can add to the pot will be greatly appreciated and remembered for years to come by the next generation of the LGBTQ+ community. I will give updates on where the money goes. Anything not used this year will just carry on to next academic year.
