On 9 January 2022, eight-year-old Caleb went from being a thoughtful, happy, and active little boy who loves to ride his BMX bike, to being diagnosed with a terminal illness – a Grade 4 aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma.
Mick and Louise are doing all they can to make sure that Caleb can live life to the fullest in the weeks and months ahead knowing the harrowing journey that lies ahead.

Please meet Caleb and his beautiful family - your donation will make a huge difference.
What started as a typical family holiday with dad Mick, mum Louise and little brothers Will and Jackson, ended with an emergency trip to Redcliffe hospital and the heartbreaking diagnosis. It all happened so fast - from Caleb complaining of a headache to what quickly turned to nausea, vomiting and the loss of strength and limping in one leg.
Caleb was transferred into the care of specialists at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, where he underwent an MRI which confirmed a tumour, the size of a golf ball. After a painstaking 5-hour operation the brain tumour was removed but Caleb now faces a gruelling six months of radiation and chemotherapy to slow the cancer’s eventual return and to buy the family as much time as possible.
The shock diagnosis and treatment has left this beautiful young family devastated. They face an unimaginable battle and we, their family, friends, and colleagues want to support them by raising as much money as we can – so Lou and Mick can afford to take time off work to spend as much precious time they can with Caleb, creating memories they will always cherish. One of those memories will be to fulfill Caleb’s wish to go to Taronga Zoo in Sydney.
Caleb is a beautiful, brave, and resilient young boy who deserves more. We know this fight will be an uphill battle for him and his family, so relieving some of the financial pressure is one way we can all help give Caleb the experiences he deserves. The family and doctors are searching the world to seek out experimental treatments – so we pray that a breakthrough in research or treatment comes in time.
We know how tough the last couple of years has been for so many but if you are able to help us rally around this amazing family, then we appreciate any donation you would like to make – no matter how big or small – it will make a difference.
Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.
