My name is Summer and I work with the Kyebando Child Support Centre. This orphanage houses, educates, feeds, and supports over 150 local children. Last year we (with the help of a few major donors-you know who you are!) we’re able to raise enough money for the orphanage to purchase the land that these little ones have lived on for years. This was a momentous occasion and one we celebrated!

We now must address the other basic human needs other than shelter that these child lack. There is no running water and no way to store rain water when it comes. The place they prepare food is hardly a kitchen, let alone sanitary. There is no electricity and we are looking into the option of solar panels to have sustainable electricity during the days. Food is a constant need and feeding up to 150 children is a daily challenge that a small food storage would help alleviate some of that stress. The kids still do not have plates/bowls or utensils. The children are always in need of new schools supplies every year which tacks a heavy monetary tool yearly.

With the funds we aim to raise, these children can be so much closer to having their basic needs met and what a gift that would be! Food, water, shelter, and love. You provide that love by your gracious and hopeful generous donations, and for that, we all say- THANK YOU
