Fundraising for Castle Pool Plant Room
As your aware the swimmers completed their 12 hour swim successfully and all the money that was raised from all the charity events we still have.
However as you may now be aware the boiler has now completely gone and we need to raise a lot more money to be able to get our pool up and running again. It’s going to be hard work to raise what we need to, for the figure which is now £30,000!!!
Please, even if you could donate whatever you can, and help raise the funds to get us up and running. With companies, residents, far and wide, using our services. If you are interested in helping us or have any ideas, please get in touch!
A huge thank you in advance!
Castle Pool Community Partnership is a registered charity originally founded by a group of local volunteers that began campaigning to stop the closure of the council run Castle Vale Leisure Centre in 2009.
Between 2009 and 2013 the local volunteers began running voluntary swimming/splash lessons at the pool, hiring the facility from the council whilst continuing to campaign tirelessly for to stop the closure of the much used local facility.
With the support of larger swimming clubs that use the pool, in January 2014 Castle Pool Community Partnership took over the running of the leisure centre. Currently we run with a mixture of volunteers and paid staff and are completely self sufficient. Over the last twelve months we have had various repairs that have been needed that we have been able to fund - however there are serious repairs in our plant room that need urgent attention to prevent the pool being closed permanently.
We currently provide swimming lessons to babies, children and adults of all abilities, provide public swim time and hire to clubs that would not be able to continue to without our facility.
We have won numerous prestigious awards for our work and continued efforts in keeping this facility running and provided quality affordable swimming lessons.
ABC (Any Body Can Swim) have also been running lessons as part of CPCP for several years from Castle Pool - they provide mainly disabled and autistic children a fun, safe environment to have swimming lessons on a 1-2-1 basis with teachers that genuinely care about the children. This kind of opportunity for these children are few and far between.
