Back in October I had a cardiac arrest in Meadowbrook Park. Dundrum Soccer had recently placed a defibrillator outside their clubhouse and a coach from there, Ray Mellon, who knew CPR and how to use a defibrillator, I survived.
Our kids Oisín & Séimi are taking on a Kids HYROX this coming Sunday 1st February to help raise funds for a community defibrillator and CPR awareness ❤️
Every donation helps make our community safer and could one day save a life.
Thanks so much for any support!
I am currently training to be a CPR & AED instructor and will be organising CPR & AED classes for the community in the near future in conjunction with Llewellyn Residents Association and Community First Responders (CFR).
Early CPR and access to a defibrillator can more than double a person’s chance of survival.
That’s why we are raising funds to provide:
• A publicly accessible defibrillator (AED) in Llewellyn
• CPR awareness and education for members of the local community
This equipment can mean the difference between life and death in those critical first few minutes before emergency services arrive.
Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone — young or old, fit or unwell — and it often happens without warning.
In those moments:
• Every minute without CPR reduces survival chances by ~10%
• A nearby defibrillator can restore a normal heart rhythm
• Trained bystanders can save lives before paramedics arrive
Having an accessible AED and people who know how to use it gives our community the power to act when it matters most.
All donations will go directly toward:
✔ Purchasing and installing a community-access defibrillator
✔ CPR and AED awareness training
✔ Signage and accessibility so the device can be found quickly
✔ Long-term maintenance (pads, batteries, upkeep)
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, brings us closer to making our community safer.
I would like to thank Heart Safety Solutions for their support!
