Help YouthCentre Get Back Up to help youth Again

We were devastated by the recent Youth Empowerment & Skills Centre break-ins. We seek your help, kindness and generosity to help us get back up again so we can continue to support the underprivileged, underrepresented youth and the low-income families in Calgary with their kids' educational needs.
The suspect gained access through break-ins. The two break-ins resulted in destruction, taking items from the garage and storage room and losing many things.
- Camera Recorder Box ( DVR)
- Over 70 slightly used laptops (in good condition and updated)
- 29 used laptops (in process of being checked by our tech)
- 23 new Google Chromebook in boxes
- 10 Centre iPad (used by kids who come into the center)
- 14 used iPad (updated and to be given out to at-risk youths)
- 4 new apple ipads
- 5 Apple airbook
- 8 apple Mackbooks ( being used in the Centre for kids to learn art, music, and do homework)
- A backpack
- Art packages with art supplies for kids
- 20 Bluetooth headset
- 15 computer lights - Magnifier
- 25 Bicycle LED lights (was going to be used for our YYC Kids Safe Cycle
- 4 Appel laptops
- 5 to 12 expensive bikes donated
This has been devastating and indescribable for someone to target a youth center where all of those items are 100% given by the community for the community. It has also set us back as we have worked hard during the pandemic and continue supporting our vulnerable at-risk youths, low-income families and our community.
We are asking for the generosity of our Calgarians spirit and the community to help us get back up again after being knocked down by this loss so we can continue to support the underprivileged, underrepresented youth and the low-income families in Calgary with their kid's educational needs.
The funds will help us:
- Help install security cameras and alarm
- Buy devices to replace the lost laptops, ipads
We are also accepting in- Kind new and used devices at:
- Address: Forest Lawn Community Association 4020 26 Ave SE
- Time: Mond to Fri: 12m to 4 pm
- Sat & Sun: 12pm to 5 pm
Those thieves may have stolen from us the essential items that impact many vulnerable lives in our community, but they can never steal our hope, faith and belief in good.
