My name is Hilary Michelle Sulit, and I am reaching out to share an exciting opportunity and ask for your support as I prepare for my upcoming mission trip to the Philippines.
Originally, I was accepted to serve in Hawaii through He Said Go as a teacher’s aide at a small Christian school with only two full-time teachers. I was thrilled at the chance to serve and make a difference there. However, due to unforeseen visa issues, my earliest appointment at the U.S. Consulate was delayed until July 2027, even after I requested an expedited process. I was supposed to leave in January 2026, so this news came as a huge disappointment. Yet deep down, I knew that God still wanted me to serve somewhere; I just didn’t know where that would be. Not long after, during a conversation with a church member, I felt a sudden urge to ask my dad if he could reach out to someone he knew in the Philippines. I was able to speak with a principal in Iloilo—my hometown—and the same elementary school I once attended.
By God’s grace, I was offered the opportunity to return and serve as a teacher’s assistant there. Since the school did not officially request a missionary, I will be covering my own housing expenses and will not be receiving a stipend. Additionally, my family and I decided to sponsor two students’ tuition, at 22000 PHP, totaling $530, to further support the school community.
I am writing this letter to humbly ask for your support—both through prayers and financial assistance—as I prepare for this journey. Any contribution will go directly toward my flight costs, rent, and the students’ tuition, totaling up to my fundraising goal of $2,500. Your generosity will not only help me fulfill this calling but also make a lasting impact on the children and community I’ll be serving.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I’m grateful for any support you can offer, and I trust that God will bless your kindness abundantly.
