My brother, Adnan Alsahhar, a young man from Gaza, suffers from a completely deteriorated hip joint. The pain is unbearable. Doctors have warned us: “If he doesn’t get an urgent hip replacement surgery, amputation may be the only option.” We live under very difficult conditions in Gaza, with no stable income. Local hospitals can’t provide the surgery. The only chance is to travel to Germany or Belgium for proper treatment. The cost of surgery and medical care is over $30,000.
