For years, Sitaram Kattel “Dhurmus” has given Nepal more than entertainment—

The Situation

The International Cricket Stadium in Chitwan—a project built with love, patriotism, and citizen participation—reached a point where financial challenges made it impossible for the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation to continue alone.

Despite completing nearly NRs. 59.90 crore of work, the project was slowed by:

Unfulfilled donation pledges

Rising construction and material costs

Unpaid dues to workers and suppliers

The natural limitations of crowdfunding

Because of these pressures, the project was handed over to Bharatpur Metropolitan City, which is now responsible for completing it.

But the debts, commitments, and financial strain that arose during the foundation’s work still weigh heavily on Dhurmus.
