Hi, my name is Maria "Leah" and I am fundraising for my dear friend Emi and her two wonderful daughters, Taho and Miyo after the passing of her beloved husband and father - Makoto (Mak) Shinagawa on July 29 , 2025.

Makoto was first and foremost a man dedicated to his family. He was incredibly proud of both his girls and the young women they are becoming. While he had many passions in life, his greatest love was his wife and daughters. They were the driving force behind all he did.

His greatest wish was for his family to be safe, happy, and cared for, and he worked tirelessly to give his daughters the best life and future he possibly could.

Now, that future is uncertain.

As Makoto was the sole provider for the family, we are asking for any contributions that can help Emi and the girls with finances during this difficult time and into the future.

Many of you know that both Makoto and Emi were active in the Community, helping others without a thought for themselves in times of need.

The family has asked me to manage the donations and will transfer funds directly to the family.

If you can, please consider donating. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Mak's daughters and wife rebuild their lives.
