Veronica is overjoyed at her release. On Monday, she is flying to Houston to be reunited with her sister and best friend.
This week, we are running a fundraiser to help Veronica start a new life in Houston. As thankful and happy as we are for her release, we know that she will continue to face many difficulties as she progresses in her asylum case. She remains separated from her three young children in Mexico and continues to heal from the violence of her past.
The funds we raise this week will help make her new life more stable, so that she can concentrate on building a healthier and happier life.
