Welcome to our page!
We’re Navreet, Manveet and Neha, a group of friends that have known each other for well over a decade. Time and time again, the topic of gender inequality in the Indian community comes up in conversation, whether it’s discussing the latest news article regarding a baby girl being abandoned outside a hospital in India or examples in our own lives where there are clear differences between the way us and our male counterparts are treated.
We feel strongly about helping in some way, so we decided to challenge ourselves and run a 10K this summer! We will be running the Royal Windsor River Trail Run on May 16th, 2021 and raising money for Unique Home, a charity based in Punjab who provide a safe home and education for abandoned girls.
In a country where gender inequality is rife and female infanticide (the crime of a mother killing her child within a year of birth) is heartbreakingly common, this beautiful charity aims to raise the girls as healthy individuals and arm them with the skills and care they need to face life on their own terms.
We hope we can reach our goal together and we would be so grateful if you could help by donating as much as you are able to.
Tesco said it best, "every little helps" :)
Thank you!
