Lets Feed Families Through COVID-19

Donation protected
As weekly volunteers at our neighborhood Rainier Valley Food Bank, my sisters and I have seen hundreds of people come every weekend to get nutritional and hygienic resources that will last them through the week. This ranges from canned food, fresh produce, bread, infant diapers, and infant milk formula; the list goes on and on. I am amazed and moved by the amount of help our small little food bank can provide to the local community. Due to COVID-19 and Governor Inslee’s recent enforcement of the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, the resources to the food bank are declining yet the need for healthy food is increasing. Right now, our food bank recipients should prioritize their health and well-being, and not have to worry about where their next meal will come from. While schools are closed, there are no lunches for children who depend on free school meals, and while families face job disruption, the number of individuals that will turn to the food bank for resources will only increase.

We have no idea the extent of COVID-19 has on our economy, society, and community. If we all turn away and only look for ourselves, who will help the elderly, those living with disabilities, or those who simply don’t have access? As we can all see, shelves are constantly emptied of groceries and daily necessities.

Even if we can only help one family, that is one less hungry family.

All the money raised here will directly go towards purchasing produce, non-perishable goods, household items, such as toilet paper, toothpaste, feminine hygiene, infant diapers, etc. And this all will be donated to any food bank in need.

Also, we will personally deliver to any individual or family that is in need during this time. So please reach out to us if you or anyone is in need.

If you aren’t able to donate -- sharing this on social media is free.

Thank you for your support,

Jenny, Jessica & Jeslyn
