Fundraiser for Sooey Hall Upgrade Project

Sooey Community Hall Development in association with the North West Hospice Sligo will host a tractor & vintage car run on February 3rd, this Bank Holiday Monday at 4pm.

Registration takes place at the Sooey community centre (F52 XK28) from 2.30pmWe will also be hosting a cake sale

The entry fee is €20 and this is a cash only event

Background

A new Community Council was formed in Sooey following a public meeting. Sooey Community Council took charge of Sooey Hall in 2024.

Following our forming Sooey Community Council secured grant aid for some upgrades to the hall.

o €50,000 in funding granted from the CLAR programme for a new heating system, rewiring and drylining of the Main Hall space.

o €25,775 in funding was allocated for new Windows and Doors and a full Solar Panel installation from the Climate Action Fund and €3000 allocated for roof repairs from LCDC. Total Funding to date is €79,275.

We are excited about our renovation project and we are looking forward a busy and progressive 2025 in Sooey.
