Let’s support Powell’s and give back!
Tim and Sheila Kelly have operated Powell’s for 14 years. Since the day they purchased the business from Bob and Judy Powell, Tim and Sheila have maintained the hometown charm and appeal of a clean, friendly, fun restaurant and bar. Both are longtime residents of Placerville who value raising their kids here, building a business here, and providing employment to many local residents. Even patrons have come in to help with projects during this Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic protocols have them very close to closing their doors… for good!
We can’t let that happen. We need to help them. We want to help them!
As the regulars know, Tim and Sheila updated many features to modernize their restaurant. Everyone loves music on Sunday (who doesn’t like The Random Strangers or Garratt Wilkin?), and -- oh! oh! -- barbecued oysters, Friday night Karaoke with Ellen Range, and, of course, Open Mic Nite on Wednesdays with George and Patricia Spriggs!
This is Placerville’s “Cheers”. It’s our neighborhood spot, central to our small-town, downtown Main Street atmosphere. Yes, it’s the place where everybody knows your name -- and everybody looks out for one another. Sheila and Tim have always graciously sponsored many local fundraising events, from supporting the annual woodworking program at El Dorado High School to helping local families raise money to cover medical costs of a loved one, to celebrity bartending for local non-profits. Now we have an opportunity to give back to THEM!
We have a goal of $20,000 -- one month of expenses. One month’s worth of help to assist them in getting over the setbacks from this crisis! We know some will give more, and some less, but every little bit counts! How many people can you share this with on your Facebook page? Please give what you can, big or small, to let Tim and Sheila -- and the whole Powell’s family -- know that we are in this together and want to see their restaurant remain open on Main Street for a long time to come!
