Fundraiser for my mum

I'm raising money in aid of Douglas Macmillan Hospice and every donation will help.

My Mum was diagnosed with Throat Cancer in 2009 and had been fighting some form or other of it (or secondary effects from radiotherapy) ever since.

My lovely, beautiful Mum left us on Friday 12 July at 4:20am, surrounded by her family and in The Douglas Macmillan Hospice. I was humbled by the care, grace and understanding that those wonderful people who work there gave to not just my mother, but to us as we navigated such a devastating loss.

Throughout her six day stay, Mum was taken care of with such heart that her last days were as pain-free and calm as they could have been.

My family are eternally indebted to such a wonderful place - thanks go to all of the palliative nurses who helped my mum be comfortable, but also helped us with offering us places to stay, a shoulder to cry on. I simply don't have enough superlatives.

I truly hope that you will never have to use their services, but if you do then you will not find a calmer and more gentle place for you or your loved ones to be at the ed of their journey. Please consider donating or sharing on your socials - I know it would mean a lot to my mum and it really would make a huge difference to the people who find themselves here.
