Fundraiser for Lathario Ferguson and his family
Donation protected
Recently the Leesburg Church of the Nazarene (Loco Love) and the Mustang (Oklahoma) Church of the Nazarene, went to the Bahamas on a Work & Witness trip. We worked on a number of construction projects and conducted Vacation Bible School with a local church called Beacon Hill Nazarene Church.
While we were there we contracted with a bus service to drive us back and forth between the place where we stayed and the local church each day. We got to know our busdriver and his family (fiance and 2 toddlers) very well while we were there. It took a few days for them to open up about their circumstances. They shared about living on their bus and some past legal / financial issues they are still dealing with. Essentially they are homeless, even though both the parents are working. Things are very different in the Bahamas than in the U.S. Everything costs more because it has to be flown in or arrive by ship. Meanwhile wages are lower.
Both of the parents accepted Christ as their Savior while we were there and Pastor Kawika baptised them both in the ocean. We were all blessed to be a part of it. They have since been attending church services online with us.
The goal of this fundraiser is to help them get back on solid ground. We'd like to get them into an apartment and settle their legal bills. Once that is accomplished, they should be able to manage going forward without further financial assistance. We have taken this sweet family into our hearts and hope you will as well. Please pray for this family and thank you for any donation you are able to make.
