Fundraiser for Jason Osborne’s family
Donation protected
- On August 17th my best friend’s husband, Jason, was admitted to our local hospital with COVID. The doctors thought he needed more care at a bigger hospital in Louisville. The first attempt to transport him by helicopter was stopped because of a storm. The second attempt to transport him by ambulance was stopped because his oxygen dropped drastically and it became to critical for them to travel. The third attempt to transport him by ambulance was successful. He is now in ICU at Jewish downtown Louisville. His wife is the only person allowed to see him. While it is wonderful that she can go be with him, it is an hour drive each way and they have 3 children at home. Luckily friends and family have stepped up to help out. But it’s still emotional and physically draining for all of them. Jason is now on a ventilator, has a feeding tube, and at times his heart rate has went up and down, and at times his blood pressure has also went up and down. On August 23rd he had x-rays that showed pneumothorax and also had to have a chest tube put in. Despite all of this, he is a fighter. His heart rate goes up when his wife is there talking to him and she knows he can hear her and is fighting through all of this. Let me tell you, when I met the Osborne family over 10 years ago, I knew I loved them but I had no idea what a journey it would be. We have done many things together, our kids play together, and they have always went above and beyond to help us with anything we have ever needed. They also were part of a special group of friends that just hosted the most amazing baby shower for my youngest son. This family is amazing and I can not even begin to express the pain I feel right now as I watch my best friend go through this and worry about her husband. It’s going to be a long road to recovery but I know Jason can pull through this and get better with his friends and family by his side. If you’re reading this and even just have $5 to donate, that would be amazing. I know they will be facing a long road of not working and medical bills. Believe me, they are always willing to help others. They deserve to have some love and support in their corner right now. And even if you can’t make a donation, please send good vibes, love and prayers.
Thank you.
