My heart is heavy today. As many of you have heard, a devastating fire in Hampton has destroyed four homes and six garages. Families lost not just their houses, but the memories and pieces of their lives that can never be replaced.

When I was a kid, a massive typhoon flooded our entire neighbourhood. Our home was filled with water almost up to the roof. We were safe, but everything inside, our belongings, important documents, and precious keepsakes, was gone. The only thing my dad managed to save was one baby picture of me. I still remember the feeling of standing there with nothing left. So when I think of the families in Hampton, my heart aches deeply for them. I understand that pain.

For the next two weeks, Sweets For My Sweets will be doing a community fundraiser to support the victims of the fire. Here’s how you can help:

• Selected items in the shop will be marked for donation, with a portion of sales going to the families

• A monetary donation box will be available in-store for anyone who wants to contribute
