Fundraiser for Anastasia

Dear friends, please help if you can. As you know, the war in Ukraine has displaced millions of people and I am now personally asking for your help. My childhood friend, Anastasia Melnyk, began her week long journey to flee Ukraine on March 3rd, the day her first son turned three years old. She is currently 37 weeks pregnant and had to take a long journey first from Eastern to Western Ukraine, then crossing the border and making her way to Warsaw, Poland and finally taking two flights to come to San Antonio, TX. I admire how brave she was to take all these steps to get herself and her baby boy to safety. Anastasia is expecting her second boy any day now. However, she was only able to bring one suitcase, having to leave behind not only most of what she owned in life, but all the items she purchased for the arrival of the new baby. After fleeing Ukraine, we found out the maternity hospital in Kyiv region where Anastasia was supposed to give birth, was destroyed by bombs. We are all thankful our prayers were heard and she was able to come here, where her relatives and friends are able to help. There is a long road ahead and if I may, I am asking for our community’s support to help fund upcoming medical expenses and items needed for the baby.
