Hey friends and family,

It brings our family the utmost joy to announce that the Haiishe’n McIntyre Scholarship Fund is now open for donations! This scholarship is one of the most impactful ways that we are able to breathe life into Haiishe’n’s legacy - by honoring his journey through opportunity.

Like our qualifying applicants, Haiishe’n, or “Sheen” as he is affectionately known, began his athletic career in the Harrisburg School District, as a proud Tiger of Harrisburg High School to be exact. When this career began to soar, so did his dreams as the doors for his future began to burst open. From State Championships to collegiate full rides, he discovered the momentum that would propel him forward within the crux of athletic ability and academic scholarship. Ultimately landing at High Point University where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration, he recognized that ability without discipline will never yield success. For this reason, he was not only a gifted athlete but also a proud honor student throughout both his high school and undergraduate career. These principles served him well as he made a name for himself in Charlotte, North Carolina before his journey was abruptly halted due to gun violence after partaking in one of his most prized passions - a game of basketball. Now the job is ours to continue to reach all the heights that only time would not allow him to achieve.

With this said, commemorating the mark that he had on this world and continuing to deepen its imprint would be incomplete without expressing appreciation through philanthropy. Giving back to where his love for basketball met opportunity is the only place it feels right to pour our love. As we have learned from the many lessons that he left us with, transitioning from high school to college is only the beginning of a lifelong journey. A beginning where a little help goes a long way. This is where the Haiishe’n McIntyre Scholarship Fund comes into play. In order to qualify as a candidate for the scholarship, each applicant must embody the qualities that defined Sheen’s view of achievement and trajectory of success. Namely, the winning student-athlete will:

be a graduating student-athlete of Harrisburg School District

have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

have plans to pursue an undergraduate degree at a four-year university beginning in the fall of 2025

Our hope is that each recipient of this scholarship will also transcend greatness, in the way that Sheen was able, with a little financial nudge towards the right direction. In an effort to carry out his mission, each year we pay tribute to some of our most cherished parts of Sheen. Particularly, we host the Sheen Mack Pro-Am Basketball Tournament + Community Day in his honor alongside Day Service Ent and community partners. To match Sheen’s ambition, we have increased our goal to be able to gift a very deserving fellow student-athlete 5k towards a jumpstart for their dreams. We are looking to meet this goal through direct funding, sponsorship partnerships, and an auction.

We simply ask that you give with an open heart, however that may look for you. The winning recipient of our scholarship will be announced at the end of the Pro-Am Tournament to be held on July 19th, 2025. We can’t wait to see you there, enjoying our combined contributions to relay greatness back into the community. Just the way Sheen would have it.
