Fundraiser for Unhoused People in Rochester

Hello, I'm Peety (he/him), and I'm doing this with Jordan (they/them) and Eva (any pronouns).

This is a fundraiser for unhoused people in Rochester, NY. We will make care packages and give them to the unhoused population.

This started out as a homeschool project for our Social Justice class. We reached out to housing justice advocates to find out where to go and who to give the packages to. Then we put together the packages and drove around the city to give them out.

We loved doing this the first time, so we're doing it again.

The last time we did this in the winter of 2023-2024, it took us about $20 per package, and we raised $400 for a total of 20 packages. This year we are aiming for a total of 50 packages.

We will begin with packages that will contain items to help with the summer heat in the city, as well as other items we included last time, such as bus passes, money, lighters, and non perishable snacks. Then we will transition to cold weather packages.
